A tough loss. Lohse gave up 6 earned runs and the offense never really came together. We were just out-played from the start. |

WEB GEMS- Bot 3rd: Yadier Molina blocked the plate, saving a run!
Left fielder Gerardo Parra ripped 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Arizona
Diamondbacks defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 6 to 3 at Chase Field.
Parra enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He bombed a two-run dinger in the
1st inning, cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 2nd inning and
laced a single in the 4th inning. St. Louis had a chance to come back in the
9th but they came up short.
The win went to Max Scherzer(1-0) who allowed 3 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings.
Chad Qualls gained credit for his 1st save. Kyle Lohse(0-2) ended up with
the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 4 innings.
'Some losses are harder to take than others' Tony LaRussa lamented after the
game. 'This was one of them.'
