Lopsided game

We got all of our hits for the week in one game. We had such a lead, I tried out Motte as a reliever. He instantly gave up 2 HRs. It's good to know in case I'm in a situation where the game is close.

Strat-O-Matic Report

BOXSCORE: 2009 St. Louis Cardinals At 2009 Washington Nationals 4/30/2009
Lopsided game...but I definitely don't want to use Motte when the game matters.

WEB GEMS- Top 7th: Elijah Dukes robbed Skip Schumaker of an extra base hit.

Catcher Yadier Molina blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI and Chris Carpenter
racked up an impressive total of 13 strikeouts as the St. Louis Cardinals
crushed the Washington Nationals 16 to 4.

Molina had a big evening at the plate. He lined a single in the 1st inning,
popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 7th inning and laced a base-hit
in the 9th inning. St. Louis bats were hot in the 1st inning which saw them
plate 6 runs on 4 hits. Offensively, St. Louis was a juggernaut. They
scored in 6 separate innings.

Carpenter(3-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing no
runs. Livan Hernandez(1-2) took the loss. 'Everything felt great' Carpenter
said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody tonight.'
